Join YUFE Academy, a series of lectures and workshops happening across Europe

AI-related risks, sustainable circular economy and chronic fatigue are just some of the topics that will be presented Europe-wide during the free, open for all YUFE Academy!

In May 2024, the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance offers you YUFE Academy. It is a series of open meetings related to the four YUFE focus areas: European identity and responsibilities in a global world, citizens' well-being, digital societies, and sustainable development.

YUFE Academy includes lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and talks, which will take place at the alliance’s partner universities, virtually, or in a combined mode, allowing you to join on-site or from the comfort of your couch. The complete programme is available for downloading in PDF format here and at website yufe.eu/academy

Most lectures are offered online. These include for example the lecture of modern tools in drug design, organised by the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Antwerp offers a lecture on green death, and the University of Charles III in Madrid presents a lecture on energy poverty. One of the YUFE’s university libraries will host online classes on digital exhibitions.

Though most of the events will be conducted in English, some lectures will be held in other languages (among them Polish, Spanish, and Croatian) – some of the online lectures even have Finnish subtitles!

Registration is required for virtual and hybrid events. It can be done on the YUFE Virtual Campus. If you face any difficulties during the registration, or want to register a whole group of people, please contact yufe@uef.fi.

This year there is no physical event taking place at the University of Eastern Finland, but we are hoping to organize the year 2025 YUFE Academy main event in Finland.

The timing of YUFE Academy is no coincidence. It takes place in May, when the Europe Day is celebrated on 9 May. Free participation in the alliance's offer is only possible thanks to EU funding.
